Jan 5th 2014 Richard went down for an operation that would change his life, there was a chance he wouldn't even come round from the operation. Being the fighter he was on the 6th Jan he woke up from his operation, he was gonna take months to heal his body to be able to get home!
His goal that mad him push was to be out in time for your first birthday. Unfortunately we all knew that wasn't gonna happen as it was too soon but we encouraged him that he could do it.
Knowing he wasn't gonna be able to be home by then we took you up to see him when he was well enough to leave his ward and go for small walks. As it was lovely weather we had lunch on the big grass fields outside the hospital. He was happy to be able to play with you and not struggle to breathe.
When he finally came home and he could walk further distances he decided he would take you to the park regularly to build his muscles back up. You loved going to the park and playing with him, and you could tell by Richards face he loved it too!
It was nice for him to be able to run around with you because before he couldn't even pick you up for a cuddle he was so unwell.
His loved you lots since the day he knew I was expecting you, me and Richard have always been close, like twins, always stuck up for each other and been by each other's side when we needed it.
